Gyroplanes are utilized for many varied purposes around the globe from missionary, humanitarian and environmental causes to pure enjoyment of flight. Here are some of those stories:
Great Commission Aviation
Jason Wilkinson, the manager of SunState Magni, created a 501c3 called Great Commission Aviation in 2015, the purpose statement of which is to promote and train missionary and humanitarian pilots in the use of light-sport, experimental and non-traditional aircraft. This avenue was Jason’s introduction to gyroplanes several years ago. Jason has been the chief pilot at Sebring Aviation, under the Lockwood Aircraft umbrella, training in the AirCam and is currently an Instructor Pilot and Captain of an Embraer Phenom 300 for one of the world’s largest fractional jet operators. He has also trained in a multitude of Rotax powered aircraft, both airplanes and gyroplanes. Additionally, since the formation of Great Commission Aviation, gyroplanes and gyroplane training are seeing a surge of interest and Jason hopes to help inspire and equip pilot with Magni gyroplanes for missionary and humanitarian endeavors.
